Where Australian Capital Territory differs, in detail
The specifics a product built for one state gets wrong everywhere else.
- No curriculum field should default to the Australian Curriculum — the ACT's own guidance is explicitly opt-in and non-binding on this point, unlike a QLD-style assumption that AC v9 is the natural frame.
- Registration runs up to 2 years, not QLD's 12 months — a different renewal cadence.
- A separate 'Statement of Intent' is due within 3 months of a new registration, distinct from both the registration application and the annual report — three compliance clocks per child, not two.
- 'Educational progress' is a legally defined term built around two developmental categories, not curriculum learning areas — reporting UI should not default to subject/learning-area checkboxes for the ACT.
- No mandatory home visit exists; suitability evidence is photos/video on request, and only new registrations get a mandatory meeting — a QLD-style 'always visit' assumption is wrong here.
- Ending registration is a simple written notice, distinct from a director-general-initiated cancellation for breach, which carries a 30-day parent-response right.
