We are learning who lives and works in our community, and why people visit some places all the time and other places hardly ever.
You'll know you've got it when:
- I can name at least five people whose work helps my community every week
- I can explain why my family visits some places often and other places rarely (thinking about what we go there FOR, and how far away it is)
- I can ask a good wondering question about a person or place in my community
The invisible team
Connects to what your guest already knows and makes them curious. Activating prior knowledge is one of the strongest predictors of new learning.
Early this morning, while you were still asleep, a whole team of people was already working for you. Someone drove a truck full of bread to the shop. Someone checked the water that came out of your tap. Someone emptied bins, opened the library, mowed the park. You didn't see any of them — but without them, your morning would've been very strange (and very smelly). Today's mission: make the invisible team visible.
